Ccochapampa, Peru Organic/Fair Trade
Organic / Fair Trade / Washed Typica, Bourbon, Caturra
In Southern Peru, near the city of Quillabamba, 1800 meters above sea level, 156 members of the Quecha-speaking town of Ccochapampa have joined to create the coop COCLA, cultivating some of the best coffee available anywhere in Peru. The town is also home to diverse animal life, including marsupials and 30 species of butterflies. The coffee is nutty and bright, with dominant flavors of cashew and almond praline, complementing accents of honey, vanilla, milk chocolate, and a navel orange nuance.
